Study Group Goal:

Propose a frame for pursuing entrepreneurship as a critical strategy for increasing the region’s ability to attract more and higher paying jobs and for positioning it as a great place for entrepreneurs to succeed.


Study Group Charge:

  1. Conduct a situation analysis, creating a baseline of facts for the area.
  2. Identify best practices as well as any early success potential.
  3. Set criteria for prioritizing the next steps for acting on findings and recommendations

Better connect activities that assist entrepreneurs that are already underway in Hampton Roads through three initiatives:

  • 757 Angels, which matches angel investment sources in Hampton Roads with start-up and early-stage business that exhibit high growth potential.
  • StartWheel, which provides mentoring and support to help entrepreneurs succeed in Hampton Roads.
